I don't know why, but I have been having a lot of trouble getting anything properly done lately. I've been feeling really tired and somehow like I was swimming through treacle. This was not good because I had a lot to get done. So yesterday morning I woke up with a lot of energy and enthusiam. This may have a lot to do with the lovely evening I had on Friday...! Anyway, whatever it was, it was great. I was like a woman pocessed. Windows were wide open, washing was spinning in the machine, the contents of my wardrobe were being flung on my bed while I cleaned the inside ready for organising my winter wardrobe. I had a casserole cooking away ready to be frozen for visit from my Godmother next Friday (and I know I won't feel like cooking for her after a day at work) and I totally re-organised the work tops in my kitchen which were looking more than a little tired and dusty. I liked it so much when I'd finished that I just had to take a picture.
So that was the morning. By lunch time the flat was organised and gleaming (ready for Godmother visit so I will have to be careful not to create much mess through the week) and I was ready to do some creating.
This is bunting for my beautiful nephews first Birthday party next saturday. He's having a party with 3 little friends in my Sisters village hall. What fun! It's a long time since a went to a children's Birthday party, let alone one for four one year olds! I can't believe he's going to be one. It hardly seems like a minute ago that I was sitting here knitting like a crazy woman trying to finish the knitted patchwork cot blanket.
I remember so clearly my Mum ringing me to say my Sis was in labour and spending the day not really being able to work properly because I was so excited that my nephew or neice was nearly here, and worrying about her getting through it ok. And then little Hamish arrived and now he's nearly one! I've bought him thiswhich I think is just so cute. He's going to look gorgeous in it.
Anyway, the bunting is done ready to make the village hall look bright and cheerful, and I also managed to get a lot of other creating done which hopefully I'll be able to tell you about soon.
Today I've been doing my National Trust Volunteering at Ham Housewhich has been a nice way to spend the afternnoon. Now I've just got time for a little more sewing then it's a nice early night for me after all this activity.
