Addicted to Ebay and another new mag.
I've been getting a little bit addicted to ebay lately. Actually, I think both George and I have. Only difference is that he's been buying things for the boat and I've been buying buttons and lovely little bits to put in my little shop. Above are some little lovelies that came in a mixed bag I purchased. It was one of those gamble bags really. You can see it's a mixed bag but you don't really know what's in it until it arrives. Needless to say, quite a sizeable bag will be going back for re-sale on ebay, but I did find plenty of goodies amongst the dull ones that more than justified what I paid.
I'm particularly keen on these three little cuties. I'm not entirely sure what I will do with them but I just think they're sort of sweet.
I also got another selection of pretty, new buttons in pastel shades. They're not terribly exciting but they're the sort of thing I use a lot when I'm making cards. The price was excellent as well which was the best bit.
I had another exciting parcel in the post yesterday.
I just couldn't help myself! Being a very big admirer of Alicia, when I saw she was featured in Romantic Homes Magazine, I knew I just had to have a copy. As far as I know, it's not available to buy here in the UK, so I went on their website to see if I could order a copy. I discovered that not only can you order the current issue, but you can order back issues too! Very dangerous for the old Bank account. Anyway, I showed restraint and just ordered the March issue. I have to tell you that it doesn't disappoint. It's a pretty long article with lots of gorgeous pictures of her lovely house. There are some other lovely things in the magazine too, although I have to say that it is perhaps the thinnest magazine I've ever purchased. But definitely worth it.
Well we have another reasonably busy weekend ahead of us. Off to Salisbury again tomorrow (I'm sure we should just go and live there, the amount of time we are starting to spend there recently!) then sailing on Sunday. When I say sailing, I really mean sailing. We are hoping to get the sails up for the first time and really see whether we can sail her. I think George the Bear will be pleased to see us as it's been a couple of weeks.
Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you all on Monday. X
P.S ~ Gemma asked me how to order the single issues off Romantic Homes website. I'm always happy to help other people spend money so here's how you do it. Go to the site, www.romantichomes.com, click on Subscribe from the menu at the top. Then, from the menu on the left hand side click on single issues and it takes you to an order page for all the back issues as well as the current issue which is at the top of the list. Simple

those buttons are very unique. i love the pictures.

Love your little green snail buttons! It is too much fun on eBay...my hubby announced one night that he sold 5 things on eBay that day...I mumbled that I bought 5, but no worry- not his 5. No chance of that! Tools, who needs those? Give me buttons!
Good luck with your shop! xoC

Thank you, Nonnie. I am boody since I saw that tiny little thing in my arms. He is so cute!
I can't wait to see him again on Sunday. :)
I really loved how the new layout came out. That pic was a bit tricky to make because of the lack of decent light, but looks alright.
Take care.

hiya, I have not been able to do much reading of blogs lately but I had some time tonight and have just went through all yours that I have missed. Its funny seeing pics of Salisbury on your blog. we used to live right near the close and I walked that street every day into town. the close is really lovely and my fave place in town but you are right, Salisbury is rubbish for vintage shopping!
Your handmade items are beautiful, Im looking forward to seeing the finished site. ( and buying some pretty things)

Hi Nonnie
How can a snail be cute, but it really is! And those little pastel buttons catch the light beautifully.
Watching your boating venture closely, we are considering buying a little sail boat for the local lakes to teach the children to sail (and me!).

Nonnie, I love your blog - and also love buttons and wonderful home magazines. I was excited as well to see the spread featuring Alicia's home in Romantic Homes. I have also really enjoyed the links to other blogs and websites you enjoy. I keep going back to your site and using it as a jumping off point to the great sites you have listed (in addition to enjoying your blog as well of course). Thank you so much for sharing! :o)

I like those buttons, they are pretty. I never buy at E-bay, don't know why. I don't really buy too much over the web..my husband used to be addicted to E-bay. He's got lots of art work from there and he sold some pieces too. This magazine is not avaiable around here. I haven't seen yet. I already looked in every store that would sell it, but unfortunately they don't have it. I have an issue from last year that I got in another city. This year, maybe when I come back from my trip I will choose few magazines that I want to subscribe. I have couple in mind that I enjoy now, so...let's see. Alicia's home is very pretty, like a doll house. She really knows how to work with colors. Good eye, she has.

Oh no! Not another ebay addict! Perhaps we'll bump into each other while we're doing our browsing there (or should I say, "buying!").
Happy weekend, Fiona! =)

There's nothing like buttons to bring joy to the heart.
Ebay is great - my current passion is old cookery books, and I'm watching some buttons, so let's hope we don't get into a bidding war!!

I sold on eBay for a long time, but wasn't much of a buyer. Now I basically only buy there and I'm going broke! I just this morning bought a ton of buttons, not actually a ton, but pounds!! I can hardly wait until they arrive. I have to pick up a copy of that magazine too. I know I'll love it!

Have a lovely weekend, we might be down near the Hamble with K's boat. He has not got a crew at the mo and there are still the shelves to build and the loft to start and it is febuary after all. I phoned my little brother in Brighton he was of for a swim in the sea, I think I might just stoke the raybunr up at that thought.

Ha - we're so alike, I'm addicted to eBay and I also ordered a copy of Romantic Homes because I wanted to see Alicia's house.

Oh, those buttons are really something. I think some people just have good karma for finding cool buttons. I, unfortunately am not one of those people. The snails are delightful.

Ebay is a dangerous addiction! I have to limit the time I spend browsing it. I love those buttons!

I've managed to keep away from Ebay in recent months as it was seriously hitting my pocket. At least I have some beautiful bags to show for it.
Love the pastel buttons, and that magazine looks very intruiging.
