Greetings Cards - Hand made cards using scraps of fabric and buttons. This will be a kind of lucky dip as you will be sent a card(or cards) from the selection I have. They're all based on the same design, but as each one is slightly different I can't really photograph all 80 to give you a choice I'm afraid. You'll just have to trust my judgement and I promise they're all as lovely as each other.

Were £2.25 each. Now £1.25 each

A very quick project

Dsc01344

Just a little something I made last night while watching Anthea telling us how to be a perfect housewife! I made a few of the little yo yo's last week just for something to do while watching TV one evening not with any particular project in mind. But last night I started playing and this is what I came up with. I'm quite pleased with it for my first attempt at a brooch.

More Lovely Post

Dsc01321

I just love making little purchases on Etsy and Ebay because it guarantees lovely post which is always nice. I've been doing a bit of spending lately and the parcels have started to arrive. First was this gorgeous little package from Sepia Art Studio. I paid my first visit to this cute blog last week and then on to Delila's very lovely Etsy Shop where I just couldn't resist buying. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Look at these sweet little pegs in a gorgeous little dish. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet but I'm thinking they'll probably make an appearance on some of my cards.

I also got this very pretty ribbon. I'm loving green at the moment and this is a really wonderful shade. Again, card making I think.

The next blog discovery I made was the sweet Pretty Petals Boutique and again, within minutes I was over to the Shop and buying again! But look at the loveliness I found. A beautiful floral table cloth and four napkins.

I haven't yet decided if these are going to be recycled into something new or used as they are.

I'm now waiting for a package of lovely white linen sheets that I bought on ebay. They're totally plain so will be cut up and used for cushion backs. Hopefully they'll arrive in the next few days. I think the girls on our reception at work must think I'm a bit odd given the strange selection of things that arrive in the post for me. It's easier to get things sent to work rather than having parcels left at home, but teeny tiny pegs and floral table cloths are not really the 'Studio Reed' look. I have to hide my parcels away under the desk for fear my boss might see my gorgeous pretty things and have me thrown from the building! Only joking of course but I really don't think they'd understand the 'Nonnie' look.

More sailing this weekend, this time on our friends boat. I will be taking a ton of sun cream, a very large hat and lots and lots of water. Having done all that it's bound to rain!

Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week. x

A bit too hot?

June_9th_10th_040

You would have thought by 35 I would have learnt how to cover up in the sun wouldn't you? Obviously not! We had a lovely weekend on the boat with some great sailing all under bright sunshine and blue skies. But little did I realise just how much of that sun was getting to me. I woke yesterday morning feeling very odd indeed. Dizzy, sick and exhausted. I felt like I had the worst hang over ever yet I hadn't drunk a drop of alcohol! Dr George diagnosed I had sun stroke and a call to NHS Direct confirmed that probably was the problem. What a very silly girl!

So today I'm still off work recovering having not managed to eat anything all day and consequently feeling very weak today. At least there's a silver lining. I can catch up on some blogging. And the weekend was lovely as my pictures should hopefully show you.

George the bear was very pleased to see us when we arrived on Saturday afternoon and was very keen to join in on all the activities, including drinking a beer when we arrived at the marina on Saturday night. What a cheeky bear!

June_9th_10th_012

He wasn't giving me a whole lot of help with the cooking! Don't look too closely at the interior of the boat. Those horrible seat cushions are still there. The plan was to make new covers but as we're now already thinking about a slightly bigger boat for next season we may just keep Merit as she is.

I've just been chatting on the phone to Cherry. She's having a stall at a Fair the weekend after next and is taking some of my things to sell so we were organising details. I'm very much trying to clear my current stock of items at the moment as I'm keen to get on with some new things. My website plans are getting a little clearer and I'm busily working on ideas for what I'm going to sell.

Well I think it's time to try to eat something again to get my strength back again. I might even take the opportunity of being off work to do some sewing this afternoon. I think a bit of gentle hand sewing while perhaps listening to radio 4 is not to strenuous for someone who is supposedly off work sick!

So cute!

Last night when I got home George pointed out the 'exciting' bit of post that was waiting for me. A very fat hand written envelope. Look at the gorgeous little creation that was inside.

I had almost forgotten that I had been a runner up here and Emma very kindly sent me one of her gorgeous brooches. I love it. It is beautiful. Thank you so much Emma!

This weekend I am home alone as George has gone off 'boy sailing'. In other words, training for the 'Round the Island' race that he's taking part in in three weeks time. The Island in question is the Isle of Wight. Much as I'm a keen sailor, racing is just not my thing. I can't imagine much worse than sailing under pressure. I like to go somewhere gently, preferably with the lure of a good pub, restaurant or beach at the end of it. Anyway, as I said, it's a boys weekend! So I'm having a girly weekend. I was going to make plans to go and do all sorts and meet up with friends then I thought 'no', I just want some peaceful time on my own pottering in the flat, spending loads of time catching up on blogs, reading, experimenting with some new project ideas and also getting the place organised while it's a man free zone as I know we're going to be busy the next few weekends. I've done the lazy thing and gone to M&S and bought myself easy(and expensive) delicious food to pop in the oven and later I will wander down to the village to buy myself a chilled bottle of white of which I might enjoy the odd glass (or perhaps even two) this evening while having a very long bath.

I'm also hoping this evening to do some more photography of some of my items for the shop and etsy. I took some new photos the other day and the weather was so dull that they just looked awful. So I have a plan to use some of the bushes in the front garden as props, particularly for the lavender hearts and maybe the hangers. The front gets the evening sun and also all the Kew Gardens visitors will have disappeared later so I won't have an audience on my attempts! I'm not sure if I've mentioned before, but we live almost oppersite one of the gates into the garden so at the weekend we have a constant stream of people walking by the flat. It's nice in a way although it's always lovely in the summer evenings when the street is peaceful and our own again.

Well I'm off to get going on some of my plans. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend what ever you're doing. Hopefully I'll have time to drop by a lot of your blogs and say hello. x
