More of those Autumnal scenes
I hope you won't all be too bored with more autumnal images from the Cotswolds! I escaped to Mum and Dads again this weekend and couldn't resist going into their beautiful garden with my camera again yesterday afternoon, even though the weather was a little overcast. Not exactly ideal photo taking weather. But I just can't resist capturing Autumn. The colours are beautiful at the moment and I even found a few roses still blooming.
Mum had put one of these in a small vase next to my bed but there were still a few outside. I love the faded colour.
I know I'm copying Jane here, who has already posted images of her wood pile but I couldn't resist a photo of this satisfying looking pile. I can't wait for visits in the coming months when the sitting room will be snug with the heat from the wood burner and there will be the fantastic smell of woodsmoke in the air. There's something so cosy and comforting about that smell.
Don't Mum's newly replanted pots look lovely? I think pansies are so cheerful in the autumn and winter months. Like little smiley faces bobbing in the breeze. They look really cute sitting around this lovely lady.
I love some of the views that are created by objects in the garden. These are two of my favourites.
Work on the fair items is going well. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to show you by the end of the week. I took a little break from it this weekend in terms of making but the ideas were still flowing and being noted down.
I'll leave you with a little splash of summery colour in this autumnal garden. x
Oh, I nearly forgot. I've added a link on the right to my sloe gin instructions. Give it a go, it's really easy and totally delicious.

Just caught up on your recent posts. Your parents garden is lovely.
Hope you find the Fleece In open. It is supposed to be open every day from 11.0 till 10.30 but when we visited it was closed for the afternoon.
Glad you are enjoying my story. Therer is much much more to come yet.
Hope things are going ok for you.
Hugs

Fiona, What a lovely garden to visit and that wood fire sounds wonderful...roll on the cold weather when you can snuggle up next to it and toast your toes!
Good Luck with your shows. I hope that you have lots of receptive customers who are in the Christmas shopping mood.

What a gorgeous garden. It has inspired me to tackle mine this weekend! The logs look very neat - I only wish I had space to store mine like that. Autumn is the best time of year!

Hi,
what a lovely garden. Don't you just love pansies ??? I sure do. I have to make my garden ready for winter yet, so I have to buy pansies and bulbs, have to wait for hubby though. He drives the car, I haven't got a license ; )

Beatiful photos, and your parents still have lots of things in flower. They are obviously good gardeners:)

Absolutely not!! I mean, i am not bored at all :) I love those images, and if you knew me by now you would know that i have a soft spot for this season. The wooden pile is a lovely sight :) Reminds me of my childhood, gathered tons of pieces of old dried wood. I had pain in my arms for days! hihi..it is like you say, comforting and cosy about burned wood....great memories :)
Your garden is so pretty, so green and full of surprises :)Lovely colours as well..I am glad to hear that your projects are going well and that your head is filled with ideas. Great isn`t it? Sometimes i can`t hardly sleep...I am now working on more iteams for Aina`s Charm. I hope it will turne out just how i would like too. And i am wishing you also good luck! And thank you Nonnie for happy visits and messages, makes me feel appreciated :) Big hug from your friend, Aina

Its nice to visit parents and you took lovely photo's, I'm sure you had a lovely weekend. I just wish I had a log pile like that. Mine is sadly very small at the moment might have to sort that out at the weekend

Wow, what a gorgeous garden. By this time of the year my interest has well and truly waned so our garden is looking a bit sad and neglected!
As for that log pile, how tidy is that?? Our have been thrown into a corner in a most haphazard fashion. I can't wait to get the fire going again and hibernating for the winter!

Hi Fiona
You beat me to it. I was just about to come to see you!
I love the pansies - one of my favourite flowers - and they always look so cheerful don't they. Your parents' garden looks lovely - no wonder you enjoy your escapes there.
I'd heard about T G Green, too, but haven't any uptodate information. Let's hope mine will help towards my pension! I'm sure you'll get to Shepton eventually. (The next Flea is 14 October and the next 3-day is 16-18 November.)

Beautiful photos - your parents must have a wonderful garden. I love that statue, she's lovely. We had an open fire last night (although the wood came from the garden centre, we haven't yet got a wood pile!). Good luck with your sewing too!

Your parents garden looks just lovely, I am sure it is a sight in the summer months, and looks very pretty indeed in the autumn as well. I am afraid my garden is past its prime, but I quite like the mellow autumn look of leaves turning yellow and brown, with a few roses here and there still blooming optimistically. Your photo of the pile og logs looks very comforting too, and we have lit the wood in the fireplace several times this autumn already. But soon it will be a daily necessity.
