What a cake!
Tomorrow I will be taking you on a lovely walk around Kew Gardens with me, but today I had to share with you the absolutely amazing cake my Sister made for my nephews 2nd Birthday party.
Isn't it just gorgeous?! The party was a joint one with three other little ones, and another Mum was supposed to make the cake and Catherine was just going to decorate it. But something went wrong with the cake so on Saturday it was decided that they would forget it and use all the little animals Catherine had make to decorate some fairy cakes. But my Sister being my Sister and not liking to do things by halves( sorry Catherine but you know it's true and we love you for it!) decided that she would make a cake so that the animals that she had spent all week making could be used properly. So I think the cake was made late on Saturday night and she had just finished decorating it when I arrived to help with preparations around 11.30 yesterday morning. The kitchen looked like a whirl wind had just swept through but I think you'll agree it was worth it. I'm not sure about the other children, but Hamish was certainly very impressed with his cake and he had a lovely party. His Birthday is not until a week on Thursday, and I suspect his Nana will be baking him another cake on the day, followed by one from Aunty Nonnie at the weekend after when he comes to visit, but I'm not sure any will be as fanastic as the one his Mummy made him.

Good morning,
Just wanted to stop by and leave you a little message. How was your weekend?
I hope you enjoyed it too. Have you been eating some chocolate? I shure have!! Oh, i really have to be more careful :)) I love chocolade you know and i have been eating sooooo much lately! But my skin really hates it though..I came to ask you a question really, about your book "At home with white", written by Atlanta Bartlett. What is your evaluation? Because i am wondering buying this book. Please let me know!
Enjoy your day Nonnie (",)

Time does heal...it's only when the time has passed that you can realise it. I hope it's not too long before you can move on. Thinking of you.

what a wonderful cake - creative talent obviously runs in the family! If I were a little one I would have been so pleased with this cake. I LOVE people who don't do things by halves btw.
It's little things like this that enter a childs conciousness and make up the happy childhood memories. Even if hamish doesn't remember the cake in years to come he will remember the love and that's what counts. Looking forward to your walk around kew, how lucky to live just around the corner!
Love S xx

Hello Fiona
Thank you so much for your hugely supportive emails re: blogging.. onwards and upwards I say.. well maybe not today !!
The cake looks soooo scrummy....almost a shame to eat it with all the hard work that went into making it. I am sure it tastes as good as it looks.
Hope you manage to glimpse the sun today.. it is so beautiful and mellow here in the south west.

Hi Nonnie!
I am sitting here in front of my computer, then i receive a message from you. Oh, feel soooo bad! Yes, i know i haven`t been visiting you that much lately. Sorry about that. Well, now i am here, looking at all your gorgeous products at the Christmas fair. It looked great! The cushion design, is it a new one? I can`t remember have seen that one before. Or did i? I see that you also make a lot of cards, fun :) I am planning to make a set of products. (sorry, i don`t find the right words today, still tired i guess) Maybe people would appreciate to buy different iteams with the same design. What do you think about that?
The cake your sister make is fantastic! Those animals are so well made, first class!! I would have loved to get a cake like that, my eyes would have popped out, haha :) I hope you are not to bored at your work today. What do you really do again? What kind of work? I hope you feel good, that you enjoy living by yourself again. Giving you a warm hug (",) Aina
