Little Boxes
I love boxes, containers and tins and I'm not sure if I've every shown you these three favourites.
The red box is lovely, really battered with chippy paint and a slightly rough interior. I spotted it one day when I was in Cornwall and new I had to have it. I definitely have a love of anything red and this cheerful box was just calling out to me from the shop window amongst all the other slightly dull contents.
Initially I was slightly tempted to repaint it but luckily I have resisted. I like seeing the old paint and the roughness of it all.
This tin is an ebay find and is one of the tins I use to store my collection of ribbons. I love the bright, slightly clashy flowers. It always sits on top of the red box and I think it's a lovely contrast.
Another old favourite is this old toffee tin.
I really can't remember where this tin came from as I've had it years. Actually I think it was the first tin I ever bought. For a long time it was my sewing tin. That really shows how long I've had it if that was the purpose it once served. I can't remember back to a time when all my sewing things would fit into a small tin. My 'sewing things' now live in almost every area of the flat, from cupboards to drawers and from boxes to tins. Not to mention table tops and currently all over one of the sofas!
The Christmas production line is coming along nicely and as I write the sofa is covered in little felt hearts, stars and angels. A lot of what I'm doing is being hand stitched and I'm loving my evenings at the moment sitting on the sofa, glass of wine on the table, stitching away with a bit of TV on.
In honour of the fact that I'm starting to feel quite Christmassy now I've decided to change the look of the blog again as I was getting a little bored of the pine cones. I thought it was time for a splash of red.
Finally, to those of you waiting for either orders, or giveaways, everything is parcelled up and will be posted out tomorrow.
It's a gorgeous sun-shiny but very cold day today here in London. Hope the sun is shining where you are today. xx

Boxes are great, I love tins and boxes, and hiding things away with them. I hope you are having lots of lovely evenings sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine making things.

Hi!
Just me again :)
Wondering what you are doing. I am not doing very much these days. I have a long list of things that i have to finnish and i have a bunch of ideas for new christmas decorations. But i don`t seem to get into that "make the hole thing" spirit, if you know what i mean? Yes, and it is exhausting! I really want to start, but somehow i don`t know where i should find any motivation. So here i am, just studying and giving the door a look now and then. hmm...
Well, that`s my story Wednesday evening.
Oh, i just bought a beautiful French Rug, but i am going to use it as a Tablecloth. I think it wil fit perfectly with my new old china. I have been collecting china now for a year, and finally i have enough pieces so that i can use it for Christmas. Do you collect China?
Well, enjoy rest of your evening, i will take a glass of wine :))

Hi Fiona,
I love the toffee box. The red is certainly putting me in a Christmas mood.
How lovely to spend your evenings sewing at home ~ the perfect occupation for a dark winter evening.

Your little boxes and tins are very lovely indeed. And a girl can never have too many of them, I am sure. In fact, I am quite fond of various boxes and tins myself, and am always on a look-out for new ones.
You seem to have Christmas well under way by now, I have yet to get started, seeing that I am just back from my several weeks long holiday. As for your lovely sunny weather, I did spend three hours at Heathrow on Friday, and it was very sunny and lovely indeed (unfortunately I can not say the same for here in Norway... In fact, snow has been forcasted for the near future, but that just makes everything rather more Christmassy, don´t you think...?)

I too love boxes. Don't even get me started on little "chests". But you had me at the word "Christmassy". Thanks

Hi dear!
I was just sitting here, making a new post, and there you were :) Nice to hear from you!
I have been very busy, but now i feel for taking a break and enjoy the weekend and making some Christmas Decorations. I read about your trip and weekend in Cotswolds. What an amazing weekend it must have been! OH, it looks so cosy and realaxed there :) Miss snuggling up in front of an old wood-burning stove. There are not many of those here in Holland. But in Norway, almost everyone has one or two in their houses.
I really like your new finds. So fresh and jummy colour! Love red too and i can understand that it wasn`t possible to resist it :)
I collect old tins myself, in all shapes and sizes. LOve those with ornaments. I also use them for sewing stuff. Specially perfect for ribbons and needles!
I have not been very crative this week. Just studying. But this weekend i am going to make a few of my ideas. Can`t wait!
I really love your new Christmas banner :))
I wish you a happy weekend,
Kiss and hug, Aina

Lovely boxes.
And the banner is very nice too.
About your work: pitty I can't be there to give you some help - without the glass of wine, that I can't stand it.

I love old tins, boxes etc too, I find it so difficult to throw anything like this away. If these tins could speak, just imagine the stories they could tell of their owners over the decades, now that would be interesting?

Hi Fiona
I think the little red tin with the girl and dog is delightful! I very much like your new look blog.. the colours have a nostalgic feel about them.
Can't wait to see what you have at the Bath Christmas Fair. Not long now!

Hi Fiona, thanks for visitng me. Your box collection is great, especially the chippy red painted box. Looks like it should be filled with all sorts of Christmas treasures! I love boxes too and have recently been covering all my cardboard storage boxes with paper and fabric, they look so much prettier that way.

Hi there Fiona,
I love your boxes and have a passion for them and tins too. :)
I will be showing what I am doing tomorrow along with a meme that I have been tagged. :)
Here the sun is shinning but very, very cold outside. It was all white with frost early morning. Brrrrrrrrr!! :)
Hope you are having a great day.
