Ooh I've been having a lovely pottering few days. Not only have I been sewing lots but I've been having a major spring clean and move around of bits and bobs in the flat. Above is the new look sideboard. I've gone all neutral apart from the little spash of red on the lampshade. I've really got a thing for cream and white at the moment. A lot of my frames were already either cream or white but those that weren't got a coat of paint. Even the lamp base got painted! My Christmas twigs are still going strong but while I'm in the Cotswolds at the end of the week I think I'll be raiding Mum and Dads garden for some branches with buds to force. Going to need them to hang my Easter decorations on!
The bookshelf has been re-done as well. Absolutely everything came off and went back on again in a totally new way. Only white or pale blue paperbacks were allowed back! Oops, just realised you can see the ugly sofa without covering in this shot. Better get the cover back on quickly.
Ah, that's better. Actually the blanket above is a new purchase. I popped up to the big yellow and blue warehouse yesterday and got some great bits and bobs, this great crochet style blanket being one of them. Oh, and the little cream tea light holders you can see in the first picture. Obligatory tea lights, a new wine rack which was super cheap but very smart and a couple of picture frames. Not entirely sure why I chose half term for a trip to Ikea? It was packed but I knew what I was looking for so whizzed round quickly and was back home in no time.
I love re-arranging objects. I really had fun colour coordinating my books.(a little obsession of mine!) I've been arranging the bookshelves of a certain supermodel lately(sorry, I'm such a show off!) so it was nice to be able to spend time doing my own. Especially as my books and objects are so much nicer!
Well time to get back to it, the hall is still full of clutter that has come out of the sitting room and there's more sewing to be done and orders to be prepared. Not to mention a new website to be worked on. Did I say I was on holiday this week?! x

Wow you have been busy, everything looks really lovely.
I am off to Ikea tomorrow I can't wait.

'Our Ikea Hell' is a commonly told story in our house, so we aren't allowed back for a while until we are less traumatised. Nearly a year now! I love the pictures, I can't seem to get good pictures and I'm hinting that I need a new camera. Must speak to you about the Cotswolds. We have bought a place there on one of the Lakes, near Cirencester. Take care.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean! About not having any good place to take good pictures. It is all very messy here too and I have to sweep my table just to take one picture. New cushions, a bag, lavender hearts, it all sounds great!! And the bag look very nice :) I should have made a couple of them too, but I haven`t done it before. So I am afraid that I will mess up things and spoil my new beautiful fabric. Maybe I should just go ahead and try with simple old cottong fabric first? I always wanted a tote bag..
I am so interested in seeing your webshop, can`t wait!
It is so fun and Interesting to look at all your pictures from your apartement. Gosh you have a lot of books! I love the little picture of the three nostalgic houses :)
Isn`t it great to have a good spring clean? My house definitive need one, it looks like a mess here! I am painting a cabinet, a chest of drawers and our steps are having a make over. All that before we are moving. And then me with all my fabric dust and threads..haha..you could picture it, couldn`t you?
Today I will finnish a few pillows and then make a few hearts. I am very tired today, so I hope I will achieve what I have in mind. Maybe I should take one hour rest.
Anyway..blue sky and lots of sun here today, lovely! I feel the srping is coming slowly our way.
I hope your weekend was great, did you go to Cotswolds?, and that your day will be a productive one. Take good care Nonnie!
Hug from me :))

The flat looks great Fiona, so clean and tidy (oow how I dream of that lol)
It must be so nice to just have everything you want in it and not have to worry about it being to girlie for a flaming bloke lol
I'm lucky mine's got a good touch on his feminine side. He has no choice really not with all the girls under our roof hehe!
Enjoy your week. And can't wait to see those new linen hearts x
Hugs.

Hi Fiona
What a perfect re-arrangement! I colour co-ordinated our bookshelf a couple years back, JP was unsure and thought I was off me trolley, but I pointed out that most people remember a book by its cover/spine! It worked! Lovely blanket, not bad for Ikea. I need to do some decluttering, you have inspired and spured me on!

What a lovely and cosy room, Nonnie! Your books look so amazing that I had to have a closer look clicking to enlarge the pictures. ;)
Hope you had a great weekend and wish you a wonderful week!

What a lovely tidy flat:)

We could be bookshelf twins! We have the same Phoenix card box (isn't it cute?). The similarity probably ends there though as you are FAR tidier than I am ;O)
A feast for the eyes though.

We share something in common, tidyness. I always feel so much better for a spring clean, I feel so unhappy when the place looks a mess, which with a man in the house, is quite frequent! Everything looks lovely in your place, clean and bright. I haven't ever visited Ikea, the closest one to us is Croydon, not that far, only under an hour, maybe I shall get there one of these days? My dad always brings me round catkins, I hope you find some suitable branches at your parents. Have a nice time. x

lovely! I am a fan of cream and white and dare I say... beige? I have a room in my house called my 'chill out room' where I do my life coaching from but also just read, talk to friends on the phone etc. Everything is very pale in there, with lots of natural materials, woods, driftwood, sea glass. I have a beautiful vase with pussy willow sticks in too. Sometimes when you take colour out of a room you can appreciate it in small doses much more - like my sea glass in a vase, the delicate hues of green and blue stand out so much better in that room than they would in my lounge which has lots more colour in it generally.
BTW what do you do for a living?

oh your flat looks lovely!
I also need a trip to Yellow-and-Blue for those very same things (tealights, picture frames and blankets) and to look at the office furniture for a new desk/work table...need to sweet talk my other half first, he is also one of the cold-sweat types when the "I" word is mentioned!

I love that your books are all colour coordinated. I think I'll try this next - right now I've got them all by size.

It all looks great Fiona, so fresh, ready for spring. Love the bookcase, M has a thing about the books here and he is always rearranging them, we can never find anything! Love the new blanket, enjoy your week off!

I love what you've done, I'm a big fan of cream and white too, very calming and fresh looking. Your books look inviting, I'd like to browse through those...there are some I recognise but lots more I'd like to add to my collection.

Oh how fab - everything looks beautifully serene and so tasteful. Not a piece of brigtly coloured plastic in sight! I have a flat like yours in my head that I escape too when chaos enuses just a bit too much here!
Gorgeous!

Sounds like a lovely way to spend time off, doing the things you want too rather than have too. By the way you can come and sort out erm I mean arrange my shelves anytime, well that is when you have finished with super models and princesses and the like!!!
