Pretty Packages
A few weeks ago I finally got round to giving my dear Sis a lesson on how to buy on ebay. Yes I know, unbelievable but true, she really didn't know what to do! Anyway, I fear I may now have started off a bit of an addiction as she's been receiving rather a lot of parcels in the post lately! She made me laugh when she admitted how fed up and cheated she felt when she was beaten by someone at the very last second on something she really wanted. Ah, the joys of ebay.
So while we were having the practice session the other week, we were browsing the vintage embroidery section and spotted two sets of two pretty embroidered linen tea towels. We both loved them so decided to bid for both and share them between us. One of each design each. So I showed her how bidding worked and we were lucky to win both lots.
I collected my half of the winnings this weekend and I'm really pleased with them. These really are destined for the snip(not chop Sue, don't worry!) as I definitely purchased them with some projects in mind. I have the whole of next week off so I plan on getting down to some serious sewing although I will of course have to have a couple of days in the Cotswolds. Well, wouldn't you?
Last week I received another gorgeous package in the post which I totally ran out of time to photograph and blog about. I was lucky enough to be a runner up in Lucy's sweet pink and green giveaway and just look at the pretty things she kindly sent me.
A gorgeous heart magnet, some pretty pegs, a beautiful heart keyring, some very sweet floral fabric and an envelope containing some chocolate. All wrapped in pretty pink tissue with flowers scattered between. Even the outside of the package was green paper. Such attention to detail. Thank you Lucy it is all lovely. So far I haven't used anything. They are all sitting in a little pile on a chair in my Sitting Room where I just keep admiring them all. Even the choc hasn't been eaten. How strong willed is that?!
Well, as it's getting rather late, so I think it's about time I took myself off for some beauty sleep. See you all later in the week. xxx

Oh, I'm loving those pink & green winnings--my favorite color combo!

Congrats to "Sis" on getting the hang of Ebay. At first it is addictive but it soon settles down dont you think? Those tea towels are gorgeous! And how lucky to have won such pretty things too.

Hi Nonnie!
Thanks for visiting me and for sending me always lovely comments!
I am so LOVING you for not giving me up!! My days are very much filled with preparation for my blogshop so I have less time for blogging and leaving footprints here and there. Including in your world. Oh, it is so fun but very time-consuming. I hope I will be ready for next Monday, my deadline. Do you have problem keeping deadlines?
Your new parcels are gorgeous!
Pretty embroidered linen tea towels! Wonder what you are going to make out of them :)
I have so far not been very tough making the steps buying something from the e-bay. Although I regularly buy things from webshops. Strange is that! But I have the same lack of knowledge as your sister had.I also don`t know what to do! But I am shure I would have been lost in goodies and bought everything, haha..Addiction did you say?
So, how is it going with your website? How far have you come? Have you finnished your layout?
That was very hard for me, to decide. The choice of colours, fonts and division. But for me it is just a blogshop, I can always change..
What are you going to sell? Do you also want to sell Vintage iteams?
Lots of questions..I could better send you an e-mail :)
I hope your days are good Nonnie, and that your work is making you happy.
Take care and see your very soon!
A big hug from Aina

Congratulations on both of your wins Fiona..
Yes Ebay is totally addictive isn't it?! I have been labelled Ebay Queen in our house but lately I have managed to wean myself off the numerous temptations...
I look forward to the transformations that emerge from your beautiful embroideries.
Enjoy your precious week off.. what bliss!

Oh Fiona, what beautiful pieces. You were very lucky. I say lucky because I've been beaten out of things I've wanted so bad before. I can't wait to see what you create with them. Kim.

Hi Fiona, what pretty tea-towels - yes Ebay can be hard on the pocket sometimes. I tend to have little bursts of shopping, then I feel guilty and stay away for a while. I admire your willpower in not having eaten the chocolate yet, I had to buy a second box of those, as they first got eaten before the Giveaway finished - what a piggy!

What a lovely parcel of goodies. Those pegs would certainly brighten up wash-days ~ if you could bring yourself to use them.
It is a disappointment when someone outbids on eBay ~ I have experienced this frustration, but try to stay away from their site these days ~ I see too many things that I would like to bid for.

LOL - that is what happened to me when I first started buying on ebay - i couldn't stop. It's addictive. However once I discovered selling I was ok, I found that just as addictive but better for my credit card!

Hi Nonnie
I'm so glad you're snipping and not chopping!!!! I feel quite embarrassed that you have posted photos of your lovely parcel from Lucy and I didn't. My excuse can only be that I was feeling so poorly! I must have been really ill because I haven't eaten my chocs yet, either! And I'm enjoying looking at all my goodies, too - although the heart is already on the fridge door, tethering an 80th birthday invitation.
Love the embroidery. I've been looking at vintage embroidery on ebay recently, but I'll make sure I don't bid on anything and leave it for you and your sister now that she's hooked!!!
