A Walk in the Cotswolds
I've been meaning to take you on this little walk in the Cotswolds for a few weeks now but as you know I've been a little distracted lately! I did this walk on a rather grey Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago with the other lovely man in my life, my Daddy! Hope you enjoy taking this walk with us despite the grey skies. It's ok, it doesn't rain so you won't need an umbrella!
Into the field and past the pond. Looking out for the sheep and horses that live there.

Over the bridge and into the woods. If it wasn't so cold we'd stop and play poohsticks.

Up through the woods to more fields at the top and a lovely view towards the hazy distant hills.

A lovely view back towards the village and the pretty church.

Down the field towards the lane.

Up the lane back towards the village. Those of you who have watched 'The Holiday' will recognise this lane as the one Cameron Diaz drives along as she arrives at the village where the cottage is. Funnily enough the shots of the village and cottage in the film are not the same village. In the film the camera is on the taxi then it pans out to show this lane, house and eventually the whole of Mum and Dads village!

Back along the lane into the village.

One last look back over the fields before returning home to the fireside and a welcome cup of tea!

What a beautiful little village and a lovely looking cottage too, a perfect spring walk:)

What a lovely walk, thank you for taking me along. I love England, all the lovely lanes and fields, not to mention the picturesque villages. I enjoyed the informations that the lane in the film "The Holiday" was the same one we "walked" and that the village is the exact same village. I have watched the film several times over and wondered if the landscape and lane are real, or just some tricks or studio shots. Hope you will have a lovely Easter, Fiona, in Cotswolds... or London...?

Hello Fiona, love the hearts in the post below. For a moment there I thought you had two men on the go, when you mentioned the other man in your life! Looks like a great walk, so pretty. My eldest daughter has seen The Holiday and really enjoyed it. Hope you're having fun this weekend

I love going out for a walk really early in the morning, nobody around and lots of birdsong, bliss!
Your walk looks lovely.

Wonderful, Fiona! I do miss the country walks I used to take as a child - and to be able to take one with the other man in your life - even better!

I love a walk in the country, what a lovely area your parents live in. The Holiday did have some beautiful scenery, it must have been exciting having it filmed in their village.

What a fun walk we had and we didn't even get cold lol, worked up a hunger for tea and cake yum!
That was lovely, Ben my other half comes from Cheltenham and we offen go off for a drive and then a walk to somewhere he's remembered going as a boy. It's just lovely there, I wish one day we can move and be closer to his family I do miss them. I bet you're the same with your mum and dad.
Glad you had a nice time with them.
Thanks for sharing that walk, reminds me of some of mine. x
Hugs.
